Charles Hunter Associates, a specialist recruitment agency which operates in the Social Work, Care and Nursing sectors, appointed GTA to Design and Build their new workplace in central Reading.

GTA commenced the design journey with fit factor space planning of several building options to assist CHA’ building selection.

CHA wanted to adopt new ways of working as they migrated to hybrid working and ensure their new home reflected their young and dynamic culture.

Team collaboration was at the heart of the design scheme; pockets of space are carved out using suspended acoustic screens and subtly present different furniture settings to allow staff choice of where to meet or do focus work.

Brand integration was key to the finishes selection. The raw industrial design scheme of exposed services, corten steel, red brick, concrete and solid timber flooring creates a neutral textured backdrop to CHA’s strong brand.

CHA adopt a work hard play hard ethos and so the games area was of upmost importance to the workspace and in fostering this culture. With any exposed services and open plan office schemes it is paramount acoustics are designed into the space; at CHA suspended ceiling panels ensure sufficient acoustic absorption so noise doesn’t travel across the office.
