GTA was commissioned by a long-standing client to create a unique, personal office space in a historic townhouse in central Barcelona. Located in the heart of the Eixample district, 302 Corcega offers a striking blend of modern luxury and heritage preservation. Situated on the third floor of a building dating back to the early 1900s, the project required precision and expertise to seamlessly integrate contemporary office needs while maintaining the building’s original charm. The renovation involved restoring and replicating intricate architectural details, including ornate ceiling roses, hand-crafted window panes, and feature dado wall panelling. The original shutters were carefully restored to meet local heritage requirements, preserving the area’s historical authenticity. These classic features were paired with new Crittall doors, feature lighting, and elegant parquet flooring, striking a careful balance between old and new. The office features a sophisticated meeting room with a marble-topped table and soft leather chairs, complemented by full audio-visual capabilities. The main office area includes a stylish lounge space, furnished with Philippe Starck-designed chairs and a marble coffee table, creating a refined yet comfortable setting. A neutral, light colour palette was chosen to enhance the building’s character, while luxurious soft furnishings added warmth and elegance. Delivering and installing furniture presented logistical challenges, as the building lacked suitable lift access. To overcome this, the large marble table was craned in through the balcony window, minimizing disruption. Throughout the space, new electrical, data, and lighting systems were installed, providing modern functionality without compromising the building’s historical essence. The result is an elegant, warm, and sophisticated office that perfectly reflects the client’s brand . 302 Corcega stands as a testament to GTA’s expertise in meticulous planning and blending sleek, contemporary design with the rich heritage of Barcelona’s architectural legacy.
